第三章 勤练内功——四大必备阅读技能
雅思阅读考试要求考生在一个小时内完成几篇文章的阅读。它不仅考查考生的词汇量和语法，还考查一系列的阅读技能。正确使用这些技能对快速找到信息、确定出题句、理解文章能起到事半功倍的效果。下面我们就来了解一下哪些阅读技能是我们需要掌握的：
一、精确扫读 Scanning
技能介绍 Introduction
Scanning，即扫读，就是像扫描仪一样逐行扫描信息。在扫读的过程中，眼睛应该迅速扫过每一行，甚至扫过２行～３行寻找信息，而不是逐字逐句地看文章。扫读的过程是挑选信息的过程，所以不需要特别注意文章内容，也不需要进行上下文翻译，一切都是以找“特殊信息”为主。那么什么是“特殊信息”呢？就是相对普通名词来说，容易从文章中被挑出来的比较好定位的词。比如：
● 大写的词：人名、地名、文件名称、部门名称等
● 数字：时间、日期、钱数等
● 写法特殊的词：黑体字、斜体字、带下划线的词、带引号的词、中间有连字符的词等
● 题目中的词：在问题中出现的用来定位的名词、词组和它们的同义表达
G类阅读中多数题目都是细节题，比如判断题、选择题、填空题、简答题等。对于细节题，在文章中找到某个出题句要比通读一段的内容更重要。如果能使用扫读的方法，在文章中迅速定位到题目中出现的词，对于提高做题速度是很有帮助的。
扫读练习Scanning Exercise
扫读主要是寻找文章中大写的词、数字、写法特殊的词等。首先我们应该通读题目，总结出稍后到文章中应该看哪个小标题、要寻找哪些信息，再去看文章。请考生们注意：扫读练习为速读练习，不需要通读。希望考生们在１０分钟之内做完下面这篇练习。

Overtime
All time worked over eight hours in one day and forty hours in a workweek, and also the first eight hours worked on the seventh day of work in a workweek is considered overtime for non-exempt employees. The supervisor must approve all overtime before overtime occours. Hours in excess of eight hours on the seventh day and in excess of twelve hours in one day will be paid at double time. Exempt employees receive no additional compensation for overtime hours.
Parking
All employees who will be parking in a staff parking zone must obtain a parking permit. A monthly pre-tax payroll deduction can be made by visiting Human Resources. If you wish to pay cash, present your staff I.D. and license number to the Cashier’s Office. The Safety Department will ticket cars without a parking permit and a fine will be applied.
Holidays
All regular and temporary full-time employees generally receive approximately 13 paid holidays during the course of each calendar year. Regular part-time employees will receive holiday benefits worked out using a prorated system. The holiday schedule is initiated annually.
Personal Holidays
Each employee is granted on extra day as a Personal Holiday at the time of hire, and at the beginning of each calendar year. Personal Holiday hours must be taken at one time eight hours full-time or prorated based on the employee’s time. Employees requesting Personal Holiday will be required to complete “Leave Request” forms. No more than one Personal Holiday is authorized annually.
Birthday Holiday
All regular and temporary full-time or part-time employees are entitled to take their birthday off with pay. An employee has a fifteen-day span before and following hisher birthday to take the paid day off. What is known as a “grace period” through January 15th is given to those employees whose birthdays fall between December 16th and the end of year.

本题也是找一个部门，这个部门的特点是对没有停车许可证的车辆开罚单。

首先根据holidays可以定位到某个小标题，题目问how many，肯定是要找数字，所以在这一段中找数字的话，很快就能找到答案了。

可以用首字母大写的Personal Holiday定位到某个小标题，之后找文件名称。

本题可用后面的时间定位，然后找出一个和名称有关的词。
